As a collective of passionate individuals, at cievents, we believe that an organisation that stands for something is something. Along with Flight Centre Travel Group, we have decided to focus on our partnership with our global charity partner SolarBuddy.
Solve The 17
The company that stands for something really is something. At cievents, we stand by this. The COVID-19 outbreak has reminded us of what really matters. Life is about what you stand for and what you’re going to do about it.
Welcome to Solve the 17 - SolarBuddy’s Global Innovation Challenge. This is a virtual team building program focused on real solutions. It is aligned to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - a call to action with three overarching aims:
- Fight inequality and injustice,
- End extreme poverty,
- Tackle climate change.
cievents and SolarBuddy Partnership
SolarBuddy is a Brisbane based charity focused on placing 6 million lights into the hands of children currently living in Energy Poverty and shining a light on this devastating, yet little known issue, which kills more children each year than Malaria and AIDS combined.
Together with Flight Centre Travel Group, we have in Australia, and New Zealand committed to officially ending energy poverty for the children of Vanuatu by facilitating the donation of 42,000 SolarBuddy lights over the coming 18 months.
Incorporating SolarBuddy into our programs
In order to educate and encourage our customers about Energy Poverty and the amazing work that SolarBuddy do, we have developed a unique program, Hike For Light, designed around a team-building activity with real purpose.
Hike For Light takes your team into the heart of Vanuatu for a two-day team-building experience that will leave a long-lasting legacy.
By incorporating our Hike For Light program with your conference, your team will be taken on an incredible journey, where they will personally hand-deliver solar lights to children in communities affected by Energy Poverty, which will allow them the ability to study after dark, getting us one step closer to ending the cycle of Energy Poverty.
