CiEvents’ Strategy:
The client’s preference was an alluring Pacific Isle destination, yet following research by CiEvents, few of the sales staff had been to Ayers Rock or the Great Barrier Reef. With tensions over international travel high due to 9/11 and SARS, a domestic combo solution of Rock and Reef was ideal. Intimate planning would see delegates participating in rare spiritual experience one moment, hair raising adrenalin rush the next. Highlights included treks through geological landforms of Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park, sipping French champagne as the sun set over the desert, and an exclusive ‘Sounds of Silence’ dinner for the final night at the Rock,

complete with personal chefs for each table and a extravagant 5 course meal with wines to suit each palette. Dinner savoured, the lights went out and the resident astronomer brought to life the clear heavenly stars – each rich in symbolic significance – delivering one of those once in a lifetime experiences. So too were the next days’ events: private off-track safaris atop camels, cruising the vast ochre landscape on a Harley, transcending the ancient-old sandstone cliffs, abseiling and a birds’ eye view of the outback vista from a private helicopter.
