Fire and Flood Benefit

A who's who of Australia's sporting talent gathered to raise money for the victims of the Victorian bushfires and Queensland floods.

"We were a long way from home when it all happened and we really wanted to do something to help" said Socceroos captain and one of the night's hosts Lucas Neill, who came up with the plan for the dinner with team-mates and co-host Tim Cahill and Mark Schwarzer.

In just 12 days the trio had gathered a room of movers and shakers, generous sponsors (including cicreate and Starcity!) and high profile guests such as Ian Thorpe, Grant Hackett, Ada Nicodemou, Julia Gillard and Nathan Rees. The crowd was entertained by Wes Carr, Katie Noonan, Rudely Interrupted, Angel Tupai and MC Alan Jones. The glam bash raised more than $250,000.00.
