Despite the political unrest in certain areas of the Middle East, the region’s conference and incentive offering has continued to grow over the past decade. But while long-established destinations such as Egypt, and, to a lesser extent, Jordan, have suffered from negative reports in the press because of their relative proximity to war-torn Iraq, Dubai has emerged as a clear frontrunner, especially for incentives.

The second largest of the United Arab Emirate (UAE) states, Dubai was ranked third most popular city for business travel in a recent CNN

  poll, after Hong Kong and Singapore. 

It is generally accepted that Dubai offers just one face of the Middle East, but it is one that epitomises luxury, boasting a stock of palatial hotels plus exclusive incentive activities, from desert banquets to dhow cruises.

Look out for three other hot spots. First, there’s Rio De Janeiro.  This cidade maravilhosa (marvellous city) is one of the most densely populated places on earth. The Cariocas - as the inhabitants are called - thrive on dance, drink, beach, sport and sun. It's a city of Dionysian spirit whose people live life head-first – and this atmosphere alone is simply captivating.
